‘Home of the Munchies’: Casita De La Picadera coming soon to Willimantic
Casita De La Picadera, “Home of the Munchies,” owned by Hilda Cruz, will be opening at 45 High Street in Willimantic in early July. WILLIMANTIC — There is a new business coming to town hoping to cater to those with the munchies for a variety of food choices.
Casita De La Picadera, “home of the munchies,” is slated to open in early July. The business, located at 45 High Street, is home to the former eatery, A Mano Taco, who closed their doors last fall after four years of business. The eatery will serve a variety of Puerto Rican cuisine.
Work is underway in the space and is nearing completion. Hilda Cruz, owner of the new business, is looking forward to opening the doors to the community and said she has had overwhelming support from area businesses. “My son did the tables for me,” Cruz said.
There will be multiple areas to sit with seating both inside and outside. The theme of the business is Puerto Rico, as that is where Cruz is and still has family there.
