MANSFIELD — There’s a new addition to the pantry at the Mansfield Public, and it’s in the form of a refrigerator that is stocked with local fresh produce and snacks for those in need.

Earlier this year, the library opened its first satellite pantry, stocked with food for those in need, including everyday essentials and snacks. It is stocked with a variety of foods from snacks to cereal, box macaroni and cheese and staples like peanut butter, rice and other items.

The library partnered with Mansfield’s Human Services Department, which operates a larger pantry at its Maple Road location.
